TiE membership is open to professionals and students with an interest in entrepreneurship, either in a start-up context or within a larger company. A person can become a member by applying and paying annual dues of $100.  (Students: please note the special offer that may be applicable below)

The primary benefit of membership is networking with other entrepreneurs and professionals. Members can establish relationships that can provide them mentorship, connections to mainstream professionals, advice, especially with respect to business planning and financing strategies, and, in some cases, access to capital (although please note that TiE, as a non-profit organization, does not engage in venture capital investments).  Additional benefits are member only events and discounts to other regularly held events.

Special offer for students: With the growing interest in TiE-Carolinas expressed by students, and TiE-Carolinas' interest in helping better serve students' needs, TiE-Carolinas is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for students to take advantage of member rates for TiE events. Students can simply show their valid student ID at the registration desk at any of our events to qualify for a complimentary membership for the current school year. This membership will allow students to avail themselves of member benefits and pre-register for events online.

Corporate memberships: TiE-Carolinas offers discounted corporate memberships for companies with three or more employees interested in attending TiE events. Annual Corporate Membership dues are $250 for three employees plus $75 for each additional employee.  Memberships shall be assigned to named individuals and may be transferred to another employee in certain circumstances.

Charter membership is by invitation only, subject to a due process prescribed in the bylaws. Charter Members are successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives and senior professionals with either roots or interest in the Indus region. These individuals have reached a stage in their professional life where they are ready, willing and able to contribute some of their resources and time to benefit members of the organization. Charter Members pay annual dues of $1,000.  All incoming Charter Members require nomination by two other Charter Members along with unanimous approval by the Board of the local TiE chapter.

Charter Members benefit by networking with each other, and derive satisfaction by mentoring and nurturing budding entrepreneurs. They receive complimentary access to most TiE events and are given opportunities to participate in various gatherings around the globe including the annual TiE Global Charter Member retreat. They also get opportunities to participate in start-ups in several ways.
