One of TiE's primary missions is to offer mentorship to its members.  Mentoring at TiE is usually a close-knit interaction between a mentor and an entrepreneur.  The entrepreneur typically needs guidance and advice from someone who had an educated view on the subject or who has more experience in the situation under discussion.  Mentors in the TiE network range from seasoned entrepreneurs to accomplished individuals who have served the needs of entrepreneurs.

TiE has a unique strength in its collection of leaders with demonstrated success in their respective fields.  TiE promotes a unique mentoring program to meet the need for unbiased guidance and counsel through these leaders.

Mentoring at TiE goes beyond areas of business strategy and planning, and covers other areas like career counseling ('not job seeking'), general mentoring, or simply provides an opportunity to learn and share ideas with the mentors.  Mentoring sessions are organized usually around an event planned in advance.  This way, it is possible to get commitment from mentors in the TiE network who otherwise may not be accessible as mentors on a regular basis.
